NY Jets Premium Hospitality Venue During Super Bowl 48 In New York City

CHALLENGE

When NYC was awarded the 2014 Super Bowl, most knew it was a once in a lifetime event of epic proportions. As part of the week, the NY Jets wanted to create a platform which allowed them to fully maximize the opportunity of having the game in their back yard, while also giving back to their fan base who may not otherwise be able to experience the game or events around Super Bowl XLVIII. 

SOLUTION

From Wednesday through Sunday, as part of “The 50 Yard Lounge”, TCG and the NY Jets transformed the pre-existing Lugo Cafe into “Jets House” complete with lounge seat- ing, Jets memorabilia, interactive gaming, and sponsor activations. Jets House became the home base for Jets Fans, Corporate Partners and VIPs of the Jets organizations for the entire week, including a pre-game event, after which ticketed guests were bussed to the Super Bowl at Met Life Stadium.

Throughout the week Jets fans were given the opportunity to meet former and current Jets players, indulge in signature culinary creations by featured celebrity chef/ local restaurants, and listen to music by a live band or DJ. Guests enjoyed a spread of bagels, lox and frittatas for breakfast, artisanal pizzas and salads for lunch and an array of elevated food options from Lugo Chef and other local celebrity chefs. Jets House ticketed guests also had access to the full day of programming and offerings at “The 50 Yard Lounge.” 

RESULTS

  • Jets House was a virtual sell out for the entire week, welcoming general fans, season ticket holders, VIPs and corporate partners alike

  • Appearances by more than 30 current and retired Jet players/coaches including Rex Ryan, Geno Smith, Jets GM John Idzik, Nick Mangold and NY Jets legends Curtis Martin, Chad Pennington and Wayne Chrebet, among others

  • Quest Love, from The Roots, was a guest DJ during the Jets Saturday Night Party

  • Jets House was the rst time any NFL organization had created a hospitality venue of this scope for this fans to enjoy

  • NY Jets organization was lauded by the press for providing a unique offering which allowed their fans to take part in the Super Bowl experience

  • Secured incremental sponsorships from Panasonic (presenting rights), Celebrity Cruises, Presidio, OneUp Sports, Corona, Rums of Puerto Rico, Uber and Jet Blue

  • Jets House received the President’s Award from the NY Jets Organization

  • An all-around success, Jets House has set the standard and designed a blue print for other NFL Teams follow during future Super Bowls
